Mainly because it sounds funny an interesting. But it came from when I was growing up. One of my neighbors had roosters (and chickens), we had cats, and another neighbor had dogs. We’d walk our cats (which is already strange) and we’d see people walking their dogs and always wonder if our other neighbor would walk their roosters (not very seriously, but we still would). The sentence just stuck with me long enough for it to seem like a perfect fit for the title of an off-the-wall comic strip where any number of strange things can happen. No one’s walked any yet, but chickens have played a big part.
Why is it called walking the roosters?
